The fusion of breakfast and lunch has a name and that is the famous “brunch”. Its origin is Anglo-Saxon, from the word breakfast and lunch, and it is currently so fashionable, that it has become a gastronomic trend in several countries of the world.

This boom has also arrived in Mallorca, and that is why we will show you several places to enjoy a quiet brunch.

The brunch is known mainly for being a late breakfast on holidays, preferably on Sunday. This meal takes place between 11 o’clock in the morning and 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

This new gastronomic trend mixes a wide variety of foods from breakfast and lunch, with light or alcoholic drinks. In a brunch you can find anything from sandwiches, salads or delicious pizzas. Some also introduce soups, eggs, sausages or pastries to their brunch menu.

It wasn’t long ago that this term arrived in Spain. Brunch is well known in our country because of the great influence of tourists and foreigners settled in the country. At first it was only offered in prominent hotels, and now, it is increasingly normal to find many places that offer this service.

The island of Mallorca is famous, among other things, for the large influx of international tourists that arrive annually. Therefore, the brunch trend came to the island to stay, and has managed to encourage the Mallorcan on the island to try it.

Ca’n Gallet 

Here you will enjoy a brunch in the most Mallorcan style. Among the Serra de Tramuntana this site offers you: pa amb oli, local sausages, Mallorcan tenderloin, fried eggs and Menorcan cheeses. All this for 7 euros!

This restaurant is visited by many cyclists, since one of the most famous cycling routes passes through here and it’s a perfect place to regather energy.

Hours: Monday to Saturday from 9am to 11:30 am and Sundays from 9am to 11am.

On Tuesdays it closes for rest and it is recommended to book in advance.

Cafè Palmanova

In this cafe in Palmanova we can find first class brunch as well. They offer a simple method: one makes their own brunch from a buffet with a wide variety of sweet and salty local products.

Its favorite dish is the potato and onion omelette. In addition, all the breads and pastries are handmade. Generally they are affordable, but each product has its own price and the price of your brunch will vary depending on what you choose.

You will be able to have breakfast inside or in the patio where there is an ecological vegetable garden where they grow their own products.

Opening hours: Open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12 noon and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9am – 12 noon.

Mama Carmen’s

In this small café in Mallorca you will have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy brunch sitting quietly on the terrace.

You will be able to choose between their handmade, homemade pastries, whole-grain breads and accompany them with coffee from different nationalities and freshly squeezed fruit juices. A great variety at the right price.

The top brunch at this cafeteria is the granola with fresh fruit accompanied by toast with beet bread and egg with avocado.

Schedule: Open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturdays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm and Sunday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Wednesdays close.

Rolling Handmade Ice Cream

This cafeteria in Can Pastilla gives you the opportunity to have a delicious breakfast brunch. Their specialty is pancakes with all kinds of toppings: fresh fruit, nuts, chocolates, caramel …

The pancakes can be accompanied with one of their smoothies, coffees or mojitos. But if you prefer salty food, there is also a wide variety of sandwiches and salads at affordable prices for all budgets.

Schedule: Open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. On Sundays they close.

The Grinding

This coquette cafe in the center of Palma specialize in organic breakfasts and is committed to seasonal food that comes from farmers. All of it at affordable prices that range from 8 to 10 €.

It has an exquisite decoration, according to the menu. You can choose to have your brunch inside the cafeteria or outdoors in the patio. The favorite dish is the avocado and egg sandwich.

Hours: Open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Hotel Nakar

In the center of Palma you will find this fabulous hotel with a fresh and modern philosophy. The views from the terrace at the top floor are incredible. For € 25 you can enjoy a brunch created by chef Miquel Calent. Here the brunch is made up of a great variety of dishes: fried eggs, broken eggs, tortillas, cheeses…

As in all brunches, here you can find all kinds of bread and pastries. You can accompany it with fish tartar, smoked salmon or grilled meat. In addition, you will enjoy brunch with the best live music.

Schedule: Open only on Sundays from 12-15h.
